What is university clearing?
University Clearing is a UCAS process that helps students find available places on undergraduate courses after applications have closed.
You may use clearing if:
You didn’t receive offers from your original choices
Your results were different from what you expected
You have changed your mind about where or what you want to study
You are applying to university after the main application deadline

Absolutely!

Confirm your university place
Before booking accommodation, make sure you have officially accepted your clearing offer through UCAS and received confirmation from your university.

What is Clearing?
Clearing is UCAS’s process for matching students to university places after Results Day, whether you didn’t get the grades you expected, changed your mind, or applied later than most. It doesn’t mean settling for less; it just means your accommodation search happens on a slightly faster timeline.
Can I book with Mezzino if I've got my place through Clearing?
Yes, if you’ve confirmed your place through UCAS Clearing, you can book with us the same way as any other applicant. Real time availability and flexible contract options across our properties mean you can get sorted quickly, without the stress.
When should I book after getting my Clearing offer?
As soon as you’ve accepted your offer. Rooms move fast during Clearing, especially in the days around Results Day, so booking early gives you the best choice of room type and property.
What if my university changes after I've already booked?
We know plans can shift during Clearing. If your university changes, get in touch with our team and we’ll do what we can to move your booking to a Mezzino property nearer your new university, subject to availability.
Can international students book through Clearing?
Yes. International students who’ve confirmed a place via UCAS Clearing can book with us directly, with a straightforward online process and flexible start dates to help you settle in.
Am I still eligible for student finance if I applied through Clearing?
Yes, applying through Clearing doesn’t affect your eligibility for student finance.
Is accommodation available before Results Day?
Yes, you don’t need to wait for Results Day to start looking. Browsing and reserving a room early means one less thing to think about once your results and Clearing offer come through.
Can I book accommodation before results day?
Of course, you can book today and have a 7 day cooling off period if you change your mind.
Can I book before I've got a confirmed Clearing offer?
