24-Hour On-Site Accommodation Teams
Each Mezzino property is staffed 24-hours. We have someone ready to help you no matter when you need it. Site-specific security arrangements are also always included in rent.
- How do i book a room?
The Mezzino accommodation team is available to guide you through the room booking process. The main steps are listed below, but if you have any questions during the process feel free to ask our team.
Signing your contract
Once you’ve worked with our team to choose a room, you will be sent a Tenancy Agreement that you sign to secure your room with Mezzino. At this point, we require a £150 returnable deposit alongside a non-returnable £20 booking fee. Your deposit is refundable subject to a satisfactory inspection at the end of your stay. This deposit is protected by ‘The Deposit Protection Service’ for the duration of your tenancy. You can find more information here.
Your deposit will be protected in the MyDeposits or the DPS, this will depend on the building you reside at, for the duration of your tenancy. If you need any information on the deposit scheme please ask your Accommodation Team.
The information you have supplied will be used to process your application and manage any subsequent Tenancy Agreement accepted by you. Please note that this form only constitutes as an application, and not until your Tenancy Agreement is signed and your deposit paid is your accommodation guaranteed.
If you cancel your application after paying the deposit & booking fee you will forfeit both the deposit & booking fee.
- Can i share with my friends?
Mezzino understand that friends like to stay together. Therefore if you are applying as a group please:
- Make it clear on the application form of the names of your group;
- Size of apartment you require;
- Talk to your accommodation team early as many buildings sell out quickly.
Then we will do the rest!
- Can I stay for multiple years?
Many of our residents are returning students who just don’t want to leave us.
If you choose to stay for more than one year we often offer an early booking incentive. We can’t prioritise when we’re handing out rooms though, so apply as early as you can to improve your chances. And if you are staying we can give the rooms a thorough inspection, clean them and attend to any maintenance ready for when you return.
- When’s my rent due?
We collect your rent four times a year – in August, October, January and April. This allows you to avoid paying one big lump sum and also coincides with the issue of loan payments.
Some of our sites require you to provide a guarantor, if appropriate, you’ll be provided with details when you enquire about booking.
- How do I become a Resident Co-Ordinator at my building?
As part of our Accommodation Team we employ several students at each of our sites to take on emergency call outs, post, administration support, student support duties. These roles are vital and contribute to forming a happy community at all our buildings. If you would like to become part of our Accommodation team, gain valuable experience and get paid to live at our building then forward a copy of your CV to your local Accommodation Manager who will be happy to provide a Job Description and remuneration details.

The location is of big advantage for students: it is just a 3 minute walk to the Library, and a 5 minute walk to the school bus station.

The foundry is a wonderful place to stay for any student, it provides you with a great room, including a big desk so you have lots of space to complete your work! It has fantastic facilities for a good price and is in a great location.

I am now in my 2nd year living at The Junxion. I chose to live at The Junxion due to its location, I only have a 2 minute walk to my lectures, library and nights out. All the staff are always helpful and friendly and make everyone feel welcome. I will definitely be re booking to stay at The Junxion for my 3rd year.
Julian Harvey, Lincoln University
My first contact with Kirsty and the Longside House staff was amazing. They made me feel very welcome and at ease, which for me is very important as you will be in contact with these people on a regular basis.
Emily Walsh, Bradford University
It’s been a great experience living at Longside House in these couple of months. As a doctoral student, living in a conducive, relatively affordable and student friendly accommodation is absolutely important for my academic progress.
